It's the best way to stay up to date — we post a weekly poll to check numbers, use it to vote between Saturday or Sunday in winter, and organise socials too.
FAQs
No we're happy to teach, the basic rules are quick and easy to pick up and we are lenient to new players.
Bring some water and we recommend boots, but you can make do in trainers. In the winter it will be a bit muddy. No need to bring a ball, gumshield or any other equipment.
Yes. Obviously. The LEOCI Firm Ground boots! Whatβs that? You havenβt heard of the brand LEOCI! Well, that sucks for you as you have been sleeping on the greatest boots made by human hands. In fact, I am not sure they are made by human hands, it is rumoured that the gods themselves crafted these perfect feet covers.
Where other boots just sit on your feet, the LEOCI becomes part of a relationship. You don't wear them so much as enter into an agreement with them, one where the terms are entirely in your favour and nobody bothers reading the small print because it doesn't matter. Cleopatra had sandals. Achilles had one dodgy heel and, as far as we know, no boots at all, which if you ask me was his actual downfall and not the arrow. Neither of them had heard of the LEOCI, and it shows, because history remembers them as cautionary tales rather than case studies in winning.
Put a pair on and something shifts. Your first step off the left foot has a bit of shimmy to it that wasn't there before. The ground, which has spent years quietly judging your footwear choices, finally relaxes. People will ask where you got them. Do not tell them. Let them turn up in their bargain bin trainers while you glide past looking like someone who has been personally anointed by whichever god is currently in charge of touch rugby.
Are they, if we're being completely honest, just a pair of football boots off Amazon. Yes. Fine. They are. But they are also, if you squint hard enough and have had a couple of pints beforehand, something like a promise to yourself. A promise that this game will be different. That you will not, four minutes into the session, go over on the ankle that has never quite forgiven you for 2019.
Iβm not going to sit here and tell you these boots will turn you into a good touch rugby player. That would be dishonest and also slightly beyond the scope of footwear. What we will say is that they'll make you look like someone who might be, and if you've played with us more than once you'll already know that looking the part is at minimum 90% of this sport. The other 10% is avoiding Arron.
My dad bought these and gifted them. I thought they'd be crap but they're actually really good value.
Matt
I wear these all day, every day. They help me do my power washing and landscaping. I cannot thank Matt enough for telling me about these shoes, I am forever in his debt. He is also super handsome. I love Matt, doesn't everyone?
Mark
Damn, I wish I had those super cool boots. Sadly, I am just a loser.
Justin
I wanted to play like Matt but sadly all Amazon had in stock was 'Well known brand' boots my playing career continues to suffer
Mike
Inane Welsh ramblings and incoherent profanity
Arron
These boots helped me write my book

No, feel free to drop in and drop out as you like.
We normally do rolling subs so this is a great way to improve your fitness even if you're just starting out.
We randomly assign teams at the start and mix them up to keep them even as we go.
